Now, the same kind of commonsense approach applies when your auto windshield is damaged. Safe repairs can be made of most small breaks, and it makes sense to do so since a new windshield may cost more.
Types of Damage That can be Repaired
Typically, small breaks in the non-acute area (see illustration) can be repaired.
The acute area is right in front of the driver.
Small breaks that likely are repairable are: bullseye, star, half moon, and combination (see illustration).
Most stone chip repair is free and comprehensive claims will not affect your premium!
